Man accused of killing New Mexico police officer charged in local paramedic's death
A South Carolina man charged in the death of a police officer in New Mexico is also facing charges in the death of a local paramedic whose car was found at that scene.
Posted — UpdatedThe Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that Jaremy Smith is charged with murder, kidnapping carjacking, criminal conspiracy in the death of Phonesia Machado-Fore. Up until Friday, the agency said Smith was considered a person of interest in the case.
Smith also faces two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, two counts of grand larceny of a motor vehicle and seven counts of felon in possession of a firearm - all charges stemming out of Marion County.
