The 92-acre park at 3400 Pleasant Plains Road features a jaw-dropping playground with impressive climbing structures and a giant, 35-foot-tall slide. There are also play areas for smaller kids.

There will also be a splash pad, which will open in the spring.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Saturday, Nov. 4. After brief remarks from town of Apex officials, the park was open for play.

Pleasant Park is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

It's one of many impressive playgrounds in the Triangle, including a few under construction, like the Downtown Cary Park, which opens Nov. 19 and will feature tall cardinal climbing structures for kids, a splash pad, a snack bar and more.
There's also a new 300-acre park planned near Garner and Fuquay-Varina. Beech Bluff County Park is expected to open in 2024 and will feature trails, community gardens, playgrounds, picnic shelters, a wildlife viewing platform, classrooms and more.
A new playground is also slated to open at Dix Park next year. When complete, the 18.5-acre Gipson Play Plaza will feature a collection of playgrounds and gathering spaces for children of all ages.

There will be climbing towers, a picnic grove, waterfall wall, large sand pit and civic plaza for festivals and performances.
