WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A man was arrested after Wake Forest police said he fired shots at people in a Lowes supermarket parking lot and then fled as someone else fired shots at him.

According to police, two people reported that 35-year-old Mirza Zukanovic shot at them after a domestic dispute in the Lowes Foods parking lot Saturday around 9 p.m. at 12524 Capital Blvd. in Wake Forest Crossing.

Zukanovic fled, and a witness who has a license to carry drew his own handgun and fired back, police said.

No one was hurt, and no property was damaged.

Police say Zukanovic later crashed his vehicle on Stadium Drive.

His charges include two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in the city limits, driving while impaired, no operators license, failure to wear a seatbelt and failure to maintain lane control.

Zukanovic was jailed in the Wake County Detention Center without bond.
