DURHAM, N.C. — Two crashes on two major interstates in Durham are causing serious delays Wednesday morning.

The left lane of Interstate 885 South is closed at Cornwallis Road.

The State Highway Patrol (SHP) said five to six vehicles were involved in an accident on I-885 near the Interstate 40 split.

SHP said there were injuries. WRAL News is working to learn the conditions of those involved in the crash.

Second crash on I-85 South

There was another crash on the north side of town.

The left lane of Interstate 85 South is closed at Club Boulevard. If you're heading from Butner to Durham, delays are close to an hour long.

WRAL's Brian Shrader said the best alternate route is Old Oxford Road to Roxboro Street.
