Emergency crews respond to near drowning at Wake Forest Reservoir

The call came from Wake Forest Reservoir near Wait Avenue. The town confirmed first responders were performing CPR on a person.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Emergency crews are responding to a report of someone drowning in Wake Forest on Wednesday afternoon.

First responders performed CPR on a middle-aged man at Wake Forest Reservoir near Wait Avenue.

The town confirmed the call and said that the man had a pulse and was transported to WakeMed.

The town's website asks visitors to stay out of the water at the reservoir and calls it an "extreme drowning hazard." The circumstances behind the drowning are not known.
