Motorcyclist arrested for DWI, drugs after crashing on Glenwood Ave. while fleeing state trooper

There was a motorcycle crash Saturday morning in Raleigh after a state trooper attempted to stop the rider.

RALEIGH, N.C. — There was a motorcycle crash Saturday morning in Raleigh after a state trooper attempted to stop the rider.

When the trooper attempted to stop the rider on Glenwood Avenue, the State Highway Patrol (SHP) said the rider fled. While trying to make a turn, the rider lost control and crashed.

The SHP said the motorcyclist was arrested and charged with felony flee to elude, DWI and felony possession of drugs.

It's not clear why the trooper initially tried to stop the rider.

The rider had minor injuries from the crash.
