9 juveniles, 1 adult charged in rash of car thefts around Fayetteville

Fayetteville police have charged nine juveniles and one adult for motor vehicle thefts involving Hyundai and Kia vehicles this summer.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have charged nine juveniles and one adult for car thefts involving Hyundai and Kia vehicles this summer.

Detectives have charged nine juvenile offenders with a total of 58 charges related to motor vehicle thefts dating back to July 8, 2023.

The total number of charges are as follows:

  • Possession of a handgun by a minor (three counts)
  • Larceny of a motor vehicle (12 counts)
  • Possession of a stolen motor vehicle (19 counts)
  • Felony conspiracy (19 counts)
  • Resist, delay, obstruct an officer (one count)
  • Misdemeanor larceny (two counts)
  • Misdemeanor conspiracy (two counts)

Detectives have also charged one man related to the thefts. Nineteen-year-old Ditanier Davis of Hope Mills was arrested and charged with three counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, five counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle, five counts of felony conspiracy and one count of resist, delay, obstruct an officer.
