Chapel Hill boy dies after being pulled from motel pool in Nags Head

A 10-year-old boy from Chapel Hill has died after being pulled from a motel pool in Nags head.

NAGS HEAD, N.C. — A 10-year-old boy from Chapel Hill has died after being pulled from a motel pool in Nags head.

Nags Head’s police and fire departments responded to the Colonial Inn on South Virginia Dare Trail on Sunday morning.

They arrived to find a boy being given CPR by good Samaritans at the motel. First responders tried to save the boy's life, but were unsuccessful.

The boy was pronounced dead at Outer Banks Hospital. The boy's name was not released by the town of Nags Head.

The incident is under investigation. Charges are not expected.
