WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — North Carolina-based Braswell Family Farms provided more than 30,000 hard-boiled and dyed eggs for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, which took place Monday.

This is the second consecutive year that the Braswell team has donated eggs.

Braswell Farms is also making large food donations to local food banks.

"Prepping over 30,000 eggs for the White House Easter Egg Roll was challenging, rewarding, and fun all in one!" Braswell Farms said in a Facebook post Saturday. "It has been such an honor to be a part of a cherished, American tradition."

Trey Braswell is the fourth generation of Braswells to lead the family farm that was started 80 years ago by brothers JM and EG Braswell.

The massive egg preparation operation -- with partners The Stocked Pot -- took place at the Masonic Center in Winston-Salem.

"30,000 eggs is a lot of eggs, but we produce a fair amount of eggs on a daily basis," Braswell said.

Using a special dye, the eggs will be safely composted after the White House event, and after a second straight successful event, Braswell looks forward to what it means for Nash County.

"It's such an honor to be involved in this experience and this event," Braswell said. "I know goog things will come from Nash County, North Carolina."
