Man steals Mazda at gunpoint in broad daylight at Chapel Hill gas station

Chapel Hill police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred Tuesday at a gas station.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred Tuesday at a gas station.

Officers around 9:30 a.m. responded to an Exxon station at 1010 Raleigh Road.

According to police, two men drove up in a black Nissan Rogue. One of the men got out and stole a black Mazda CX-5 at gunpoint.

The stolen Mazda has a decorative red Arkansas Razorbacks license plate on its front end.

The car's back bumper has a Carolina Hurricanes sticker.

Anyone who sees the car is asked to call 911 or the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760. Callers should not approach the stolen Mazda.

No one was injured in the carjacking.
