Adam Owens announces departure from WRAL after 15 years

RALEIGH, N.C. — Anchor and reporter Adam Owens announced his departure with WRAL News on Sunday morning.

Owens has been with WRAL since 2007.

Known for his sense of humor, commitment to reporting the facts and passion for helping others, many on social media gave thanks and wished Owens well on his next endeavor.

Owens thanked the viewers during an emotional goodbye at the end of his final newscast.

"A tough decision, but good for my family," Owens said.

Owens, a North Carolina native, won a regional Emmy award for reporting during Hurricane Florence in 2018.
