DURHAM, N.C. — Friends and family will gather Thursday to mourn the death of Anthony Arizona Delorie Feaster, 17, who died as the result of a shooting last week near Durham's Hillside High School.
Feaster and another student, age 15, were shot during the school day near the campus,  on Riddle Road near Fayetteville Street. The other student, whose name was not released because of his age, was taken to the hospital on that day but is expected to recover.

Police have yet to make any arrests or release any information about who shot Feaster and the other teen or why they were on the American Tobacco Trail that afternoon. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 919-560-4440 extension 29332 or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.

Feaster's family held a public viewing Wednesday afternoon at Jones Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. A visitation is planned for Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Praise Tabernacle Worship Center, 708 Kent St. in Durham, with a funeral service to follow at noon.

Hillside Principal William Logan told WRAL News he knew both students personally. Feaster was a senior.

Tiffany Swoope, CEO of Graced Inc., a nonprofit with a stated goal of "breaking cycles of trauma in the youth of our community," told the Durham City Council on the day after his death that Feaster had goals, including to be a business owner, and had defined steps to reach them.

"He had a very cool demeanor, very sweet, very kind," Swoope said. "He's been working towards his goals and thinking about his future.
