Graham man facing felony drug, gun charges after traffic stop

On Friday, Alamance County deputies found cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a gun inside a car driven by Ronald Johnson Jr.

A Graham man faces multiple drug and gun charges after a routine traffic stop on Friday.

Ronald Johnson Jr., 30, faces felony charges of trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Johnson also faces misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Friday, Alamance County sheriff’s deputies had a traffic license checking station at Sandy Cross Road near NC 49.

Upon arriving at the stop, Johnson told deputies he had a license to drive, but he did not have it with him. A release from the sheriff’s office states deputies smelled marijuana from inside Johnson’s car.

After arresting Johnson, deputies searched the car and found cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a gun.

Johnson’s bond is listed at $300,000.
