RODANTHE, N.C. — The Cape Hatteras National Seashore is alerting beachgoers to a collapsed house between the villages of Rodanthe and Salvo.

The house is located at approximately 24183 Ocean Drive in Rodanthe, but officials said debris have been located as far as seven miles away.

Photos from the National Park Service show the rare sight of the beach house, with much of its frame still intact, sitting in the surf.

The National Park Service is currently working with Dare County to remove the home and debris.

People visiting the beach or participating in water sports should use caution in the area.
