CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A Chapel Hill cyclist who collided with a car on Franklin Street last month died on Friday night, according to his family.

Police said that Nick Watson was traveling west on Franklin Street on Jan. 26 near Graham Street when a driver of a parked vehicle opened their door.

The bicyclist hit the open door and was thrown from his bike.
