ROLESVILLE, N.C. — A fight occurred during the homecoming football game outside Rolesville High School on Friday night.

It's unclear what triggered the fight, but video shows multiple people swinging and tussling as vehicles slowly drive past.

Several people were arrested in connection with the altercation.

Multiple agencies responded, including Wake County Sheriff's Office, Rolesville police, Wake County EMS and Knightdale police.

"I saw a lot of police activity and I saw one young man run from the police and go over there and just ran around the field," said parent Kevin Parquette, who attended the game.

Some parents, including Parquette, reached out to WRAL expressing concern over another incident ruining the school’s reputation.

A spokeswoman with Wake County Schools said the district is still gathering information on this incident.

The fight comes just days after Rolesville High School was put on a code red lockdown for several hours after a potential threat was communicated on Wednesday.

By 3 p.m., police had determined the threat was not credible; however, panicky parents were already lined up outside the school, saying students had texted them about the lockdown and to tell them they were hiding in spots around the building.

While two incidents this week have shown Rolesville High in a negative light, there is good news, too. The school's marching band plans to perform at a competition at Fuquay-Varina High School on Saturday night.
