Hopscotch Music Festival gears up for all-outdoor event

In previous years, Hopscotch was held at various indoor venues throughout downtown Raleigh, with City Plaza and Red Hat Amphitheater hosting event headliners on outdoor stages

For the 11th annual event, the festival has opted for two main stages – City Plaza and Moore Square. Due to COVID-19 concerns, organizers said all official shows at these outdoor stages will operate at 75 percent capacity.

Performances start at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the Moore Square stage with Patois Counselors. Music starts Thursday, Sept. 9, at 4:30 p.m. on the City Plaza stage with Libby Rodenbough. Shannon & The Clams will play the Moore Square stage at 8:45 p.m. The last act to hit the City Plaza stage is Caroline Polachek at 9:30 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 10, the music is set to start around the same times with Flying Lotus closing things out on the City Plaza stage with a 9:30 p.m. set. Dr. Dog will play the Moore Square stage at 8:45 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 11, is a longer day of music with official programming beginning at Moore Square at 1 p.m. and continuing past 9:30 p.m. when Animal Collective takes the stage in City Plaza.
