RALEIGH, N.C. — As the weather warms up and travel on the highways picks up, country music star and North Carolina native Luke Combs is pitching in to keep his home state clean.

Combs is featured in two North Carolina Department of Transportation PSAs meant to convince North Carolinians to stop littering on the roadways.

“We are from one of the most beautiful places in the world, and we need to do our part to help keep it that way,” Combs said in one PSA.

"Trash belongs in a can, not on our roads," Combs said in another PSA.

The spot is part of a promotion for the state's Spring Litter Sweep from April 10 through April 24. You can register to be part of the sweep NCDOT litter sweep.

“We appreciate Luke volunteering his time to help spread the word,” said state Transportation Secretary Eric Boyette. “Litter is an issue that affects everyone, and we need everyone’s help to stop it.”

Combs is a multi-platinum artist from Asheville.
