A dump truck overturned on Interstate 40 West on Monday morning, causing lane closures and traffic backups.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — A dump truck overturned on Interstate 40 West on Monday morning, causing lane closures and traffic backups.

The crash happened near Aviation Parkway. Video from Old Reedy Creek Road at I-40 showed traffic stalled in the westbound lanes around 9:15.

Heavy delays were persistent around the Harrison Avenue Exit (Exit 287).

At 10 a.m., the stretch around Aviation Parkway and Harrison Avenue had cleared.
