RALEIGH, N.C. — Witnesses saw someone shooting a gun in the back parking lot of Crabtree Valley Mall on Sunday afternoon.

Raleigh police are investigating with mall staff and looking at surveillance cameras to find out who was shooting a gun just after 2 p.m. on Sunday.

No one was on the scene when police arrived, and there are no suspects and no victims at this time, but police still believe shots were fired.

"We are very thankful no one was hurt in this incident. Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our guests, retailers, employees, and everyone who walks through the doors," said mall spokesperson Leslie Himley. "We are working closely with our partners at the Raleigh Police Department and we ask for anyone with information on this incident to please contact the Raleigh PD."
