RALEIGH, N.C. — WRAL reporter and anchor Mikaya Thurmond went into television when she was 5 or 6 years old when she hosted her own public access TV show called "About Kids with Mikaya."
Her mom, Zola, was a talk show host and did radio, so it was a natural fit for her to be Mikaya's executive producer. She helped Mikaya learn skills that she now uses working in the news industry.
Hear more from Mikaya, including how her mom helped save Spring Break for her and her friends, on today's Out and About Podcast.
