MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Raleigh-Durham International Airport has seen a 94% decrease in passengers, according to the TSA. A $10 billion grant will help RDU and other airports preserve jobs in the hard-hit airline industry.

According to the federal government, RDU is eligible to receive more than $49 million as part of the CARES act, a relief package President Donald Trump signed. Fayetteville Regional Airport and and Myrtle Beach International Airport are also eligible for the grant.

The funding will support continuing operations and other airport business and replace lost revenue due to the decline in passengers flying during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Ten of the country's largest airlines, including American and Delta, will also receive $25 billion to support workers and payroll.
