The City of Dunn needs help getting dogs out of its animal shelter by Friday.

According to a Facebook post, the shelter is being renovated and 14 dogs must find homes before the shelter closes until Feb. 24. The shelter is open for adoptions Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m or by appointment.

"While we are very excited about the positive changes we are also in dire need of getting the 14 dogs we have at the shelter out by this Friday," the post read. "Cats are safe as we can relocate the cages to a different building."

By 11:30 a.m., at least nine of the 12 dogs were adopted.

Photos of the dogs are expected to be posted Thursday on the shelter's Facebook page.

Anyone interested in saving a life by adopting a dog is asked to call the Dunn shelter at 910-892-3777. The shelter is located at 552 JW Edwards Lane.
