NC education agency debuts updated website
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction debuted an updated website Thursday night, a project that has been in the works for the past year, according to State Superintendent Mark Johnson.

He shared the news at the State Board of Education meeting Thursday and said the new site will help the public find answers to their questions.
"We need to make things easy for them to use, and our [old] website was a terrible reflection of that," Johnson said.
DPI's website received about 10.7 million pageviews in the past year, and the most commonly searched for areas include curriculum, licensure, financial and business services, testing and accountability, and school report cards.

The agency worked with the N.C. Department of Information Technology to update the website.
"It’s very exciting to see," Johnson said. "It’s a perfect gift for DPI for the holidays."
