RALEIGH, N.C. — Here's what's going on at the General Assembly on Wednesday, Oct. 2:
- Senate Appropriations takes up "mini-budgets" to expand broadband access in rural areas and to fund the state Department of Transportation. (10 a.m., 643 LOB)
- The House has seven bills on its 1:30 p.m. floor calendar, including increasing penalties for attacking a law enforcement officer with a gun, removing foreign citizens from voter rolls and funding for the "Raise the Age" effort to try fewer teens as adults for nonviolent crimes.
- The House and Senate meet in a 2 p.m. joint session to appoint people to the State Board of Education.
