RALEIGH, N.C. — The pool at a popular Raleigh park is about to reopen, after a closure that has lasted nearly a year and ended up costing several million dollars.

The Pullen Park Aquatic Center, located at 410 Ashe Avenue, pool is ready for its debut after the city spent $6 million for roof repairs, lighting adjustments and other renovation work at the facility.

The year-round attraction has an indoor Olympic-size pool and offers lap swimming, aquatic therapy and exercise classes.

These renovations were expected to be completed in six months but they lasted nearly a year.

City officials said they wanted to make sure this popular pool would be able to last another 30 years.

The center is looking to hire lifeguards and they're willing to train. For more information, visit: Pullen Park online
