Going to 2019 State Fair going to cost more

Say farewell to the 2018 State Fair
RALEIGH, N.C. — Visiting the midway and lining up for a carnival game or the latest fried delicacy is going to cost more this year.
The State Board of Agriculture, which oversees the North Carolina State Fair, approved price increases Tuesday for most admission tickets to the 2019 fair in October.

All advance tickets will increase $2, as will tickets purchased at the game for children ages 6 to 12. Adult tickets purchased at the gate will cost $3 more this year. Children under age 5 and people 65 and older will still get in free.

Here are the new State Fair ticket prices:

  • Advance adult – $10
  • Advance youth – $5
  • Advance adult group (40 or more) – $8
  • Promotional adult – $8
  • Military – $8
  • Advance youth group (40 or more) – $4
  • Promotional youth – $4
  • Gate adult – $13
  • Gate youth – $7

The State Fair runs Oct. 17-27.
