A Durham laundromat was evacuated after a fire scare early Thursday.

Investigators said lint in a large steam iron started smoldering at the Angelica Corp. on Anson Street.

More than a dozen employees working inside were evacuated as a precaution.

The company provides linen services for hospitals, care facilities and other businesses, according to their website.

No one was injured.
