CARY, N.C. — A man is facing dozens of charges in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins at Cary hotels.

Authorities said a suspect has been forcing entry into cars parked in lots at the Umstead Hotel and Spa, Comfort Inn and other hotels on Hospitality Court during the overnight hours since May.

Authorities said the suspect, identified as Donte Norman, stole electronics, guns, cash and several other items during the break-ins.

Police said they were able to track down Norman with the help of surveillance footage, and he was arrested last week during a traffic stop in Cary.

Authorities said more charges were filed against Norman this week, after police executed a search warrant at his home.

Police said Norman is charged with 28 counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny of a firearm, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretenses and injury to personal property.

Norman was being held at the Wake County Detention Center under $260,000. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance Aug. 13.
