DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man wanted in several armed robberies downtown last fall was arrested Friday morning in Florida, police said.

Antonio Rashawn McGhee, 35, was arrested in Palm Bay, Fla., by members of a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force. He was being held without bond in the Brevard County jail pending extradition to North Carolina.

McGhee faces more than a dozen counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with four robberies between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8 in which people walking near downtown were forced by a man with a gun to withdraw money from a nearby ATM.
