DURHAM, N.C. — If you like your late night meals in Durham, you now have a new downtown option. Jack Tar & The Colonel’s Daughter is open in the downstairs of the Unscripted Hotel!

After a late night reporting, I was hungry for dinner at 11 p.m., and I knew it was time to give this new restaurant a go. It’s open from 7 a.m. to midnight every day!

Inside, it’s the chic-est diner you can imagine, with tons of exposed wood and large windows. The menu is diverse, catering to those wanting to grab a healthy bite or those wanting to splurge (my hearty grilled cheese and tomato soup was just what the doctor ordered).

The space also has what the waiter referred to as the “secret room.” A bar, just to the right when you walk in. It offers a different, dark, cozy vibe.

Very excited to have this new option downtown!
