DURHAM — A plan to beef up Durham's police force isrunning into money problems.
A homicide task force says Durham needs tohire 20 new officers to patrol high crime areas.
With the costs of training and salary for 20 new officers, the pricetag would exceed $600,000.
That's money the city says it does not have.
