RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh company is making the world a more beautiful place.
Color The World, natural beauty store, recently moved into its first brick-and-mortar space on Glenwood Avenue near Lilly's Pizza. The startup isn't just your average one-stop beauty destination. The family-owned venture was inspired by a desire to give back to the world.

"We wanted to create a company that donates a large percentage of the proceeds to charities around the world," Stephen Miltz said, who founded the business with his brother, Wayne, and wife, Stephanie.

Color The World is truly a metaphor for what they are doing.

“We’re trying to create a movement,” Wayne Miltz said.

Color The World donates about 30 percent of all profits among 12 charities each quarter, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Forever Home Rescue Foundation and Make A Wish Foundation. Five dollars from each lipstick purchase goes to its designated charity. Each lipstick supports a different cause.

The lipsticks have a creamy, moisturizing feel with a semi-matte finish. There are a wide range of lipstick shades: from earthy-tone neutrals to classic reds to berry wines. There are plans for more shades available this fall and winter.

Currently, the company only offer lipsticks online, but in-store, customers can find a wide range of scented bath bombs ($6.90), aluminum-free deodorants ($13.90), and lipsticks ($19), which are made on-site. All products are cruelty-free, natural and vegan.

Tip: The owners and sales associates are happy to assist with you choosing the perfect shade for you or a friend. When buying gifts, they suggest taking the recipient’s hair, skin, and eye color in consideration. Can’t decide between two lipsticks? They’re running a promotion through fall: two lipsticks for $38.
