Dishwashers stolen from new homes in Hillsborough
Thieves who don't like doing the dishes are targeting homes under construction in Hillsborough, police said Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedNine dishwashers of various makes and models were removed from new homes in three construction sites between Feb. 23 and March 14, police said, noting that the break-ins caused more than $35,000 in damage altogether.
Two people were seen in the area of the break-ins last Friday night. Footage from a security camera shows one to be a heavy-set black man wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, gloves, dark-colored pants and boots. The second appears to be a short woman with dark hair wearing a dark-colored jacket and pants and walking with a limp to favor her right side.
Anyone with information about the break-ins or who can identify either of the suspected thieves is asked to call Investigator Scott Bilsky at 919-732-9381, extension 37, or email him at Scott.Bilsky@hpdnc.org.
