Two killed in separate Sanford shootings

Police on Monday were investigating two homicides that occurred in separate shootings in Sanford on Sunday.

SANFORD, N.C. — Police on Monday were investigating two homicides that occurred in separate shootings in Sanford on Sunday.

Officers were called to 1305 Goldsboro Ave. at 3:25 a.m. in reference to a shooting and found that Stacey Lamont Morrison had been shot at least once. Morrison, 31, of Sanford, was taken to Central Carolina Hospital, where he died.

Shortly before midnight Sunday, officers were called to 2820 Eames Drive in reference to another shooting and found that someone had fired shots into an apartment. Travis Richardson, 30, of Sanford, was struck by the gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene.

No details of either case were released.
