Monday
Remember Prince and go see Purple Rain at an area theater.
Also tonight, the cast of truTV's Impractical Jokers will be performing at Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. The show will feature a mix of stand-up, never before seen hidden camera videos and more.
Tuesday
Get in formation and leave early to fight the traffic at Carter-Finley Stadium to go see the Queen Bee herself Beyonce in concert. The parking lots open at 4 p.m., followed by stadium gates at 5:30 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m
Singer/songwriter Chris Isaak will be bringing his "First Comes the Night" tour to Carolina Theatre of Durham tonight.
Also in Durham, the Broadway classic 42nd Street will start its run at DPAC tonight. The show runs through Sunday.
Wednesday
The Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market kicks off its season at 10 a.m. today in City Plaza. There will be $5 sandwiches from The Pit and free beer samples from Foothills Brewing Company. Dark Water Rising will be providing music.
See the North Carolina Theatre's production of Wit, the winner of the 1999 Pulitzer prize for drama. The show runs at Fletcher Opera Theatre through Sunday.
And make sure to watch Out and About TV's May episode tonight, which features a great Cinco de Mayo drink recipe, a preview of the Got to Be NC festival and a visit to Winston's Grille. The show airs at 7:30 p.m. on WRAL.
Thursday
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a bar crawl across downtown Raleigh. The crawl will hit 510 Tavern, Lucky B's, Raleigh Roadhouse and more locations. Things get underway at 7 p.m. at 510 Glenwood Ave.
Also, pop rock band Parachute (She is Love, Kiss Me Slowly) plays Cat's Cradle in Carrboro tonight. The three-piece band is touring in support of its new album, Wide Awake.
The Shakori Hills Music Festival kicks off today in Pittsboro. The family-friendly celebration will feature more than 60 bands over four days.
Friday
The Art of Cool Festival kicks off tonight in Durham. This three-day celebration of jazz and soul will feature more than 20 performances at five indoor music venues. Tickets are still available.
Comedian and actor Jamie Kennedy, who stars in NBCs new show "Heartbeat," will bring his stand-up tour to Goodngihts Comedy Club in Raleigh this weekend. He is probably best known for his role as horror film expert Randy Meeks in the "Scream" film series.
