Turn in unused pills during September take-back event
In an effort to curb pill abuse, the town of Garner is hosting a event next month to help citizens dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications.
Posted — UpdatedThe Garner Police Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration are hosting the Take Back event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 29, at Garner Town Hall, 900 Seventh Ave.
The service is free, anonymous and no questions will be asked.
5,300 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,000 state and local law enforcement partners. In three previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners took in almost a million pounds – nearly 500 tons – of pills.
