Durham brothers wanted for attempted murder

Two brothers are wanted on charges of attempted murder after two men were shot inside a Durham apartment Friday evening, police said Sunday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Two brothers are wanted on charges of attempted murder after two men were shot inside a Durham apartment Friday evening, police said Sunday.

Investigators said that Kalid Gillard, 20, and Seaga Edward Gillard, 22, shot a 34-year-old and a 25-year-old man inside an apartment in the 1300 block of Juniper Street around 5 p.m.

The victims, whose names weren't released, were shot multiple times, police said. They were taken to Duke University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Investigators haven't disclosed a motive in the shootings, but said they do not appear to be random.

Kalid and Seaga Gillard, both of West Piedmont Avenue, remained at large Sunday.

Kalid Gillard is serving two years' probation for a May 2010 conviction for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to state Department of Correction records.
