Raleigh

The 2019 Six Major Raleigh runs through Sunday, Aug. 18, at the Raleigh Convention Center, and features Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, an online tactical shooter video game that's developed by Ubisoft, which has offices in the Triangle. Tickets are sold out, but this Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, there will be a non-ticketed, open-to-the-public, interactive experience inside the convention center.

Marbles hosts its Kickoff to Kindergarten for year-round rising kindergarten students from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17. It's free for almost-kindergartners and their families and is a great way to kick off the school year.

Take 2 Kidsignment Sale, a children's consignment sale, is open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at North Raleigh Church of Christ, 8701 Falls of Neuse Rd.

For the jokers out there, Historic Yates Mill Park will host some free drop-in activities to mark National Tell a Joke Day this Friday through Sunday.
Cars 3 will be on the big outdoor screen at Dix Park on Saturday, Aug. 17. A touch-a-truck preshow, seating and food trucks open at 6 p.m. The movie begins at 8 p.m. It's free.
The Play Moore Music Festival is 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17. at the newly renovated Moore Square. The evening is a celebration of hip hop culture through music and dance and will include live performances, graffiti writers and more.

Durham

Just a few seats remain for Game Grumps Live!, a show featuring the hosts of the popular YouTube gaming channel Arin Hanson and Danny Avidan. They'll be playing games and making jokes in front of a live audience. Kids under the age of 6 are not allowed in the performance. It's 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18.

Chapel Hill

Paperhand Puppet Intervention's summer show is on at the Forest Theatre on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill. Shows are Friday through Sunday and run through September in Chapel Hill. (It also will stop at the NC Museum of Art in early September.) The show features puppets of all kinds and sizes, live music and a new story each year. This is the 20th annual puppet show, and it draws thousands each year.

Cary

The 2019 Women's International Champions Cup is Thursday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 18, at WakeMed Soccer Park. It features the NC Courage, Olympique Lyonnais, Atletico de Madrid and Manchester City. Tickets start at $20.
Booth Amphitheatre's Movies by Moonlight will screen "Black Panther," on Friday, Aug. 16. Doors open at 7 p.m. The movie begins at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $5 and free for kids ages 12 and under.

Apex

The Carolina Homeschool Conference is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hope Community Church. Tickets start at $10. The event is designed to provide information, encouragement and connections for local homeschool families.

Morrisville

The Triangle Children's Business Fair, the largest children's entrepreneurship event in North America, is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 17, at Park West Village. More than 75 kidpreneurs will be selling their goods and services. Participants from all over North Carolina and the Southeast are taking part in the event.

Knightdale

Tacopalooza 2019 is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday,. Aug. 18, at Knightdale Station Park. The day includes lots of food trucks, live music, activities for kids and a taco eating contest.
