Raleigh

Raleigh Little Theatre continues its run of Junie B. Jones, The Musical through Sunday. The show is based on the popular chapter book series for young readers. I had the chance to see it with my nine-year-old, and we both really enjoyed it. It definitely captures the heart of Junie B. Jones. All shows are sold out except for the special sensory-friendly performance at 1 p.m., Saturday. Tickets are $11 for kids and about $17 for adults.
Marbles Kids Museum marks Read Across America with special storytimes and screenings of “The Gruffalo” from Thursday through Sunday.
KoreaFest is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, at the Kerr Scott Building at the NC State Fairgrounds. Tickets at the door are $20 and free for kids 12 and under. It includes entertainment, performances, access to lots of yummy Korean food and snacks, K-pop and Korean beauty vendors and more.
Both Go Ape and TreeRunners Adventure Park ropes courses and zip lines will open for the season this weekend.

NC State’s baseball team plays Minnesota in a series that runs Friday through Sunday at Doak Field on NC State’s campus. The game at 2 p.m., Saturday, includes a Kids Rule the Ballpark promotion. Kids can sign up to help staff members “run” the baseball game, according to NC State’s website. There also will be a kid’s zone with coloring and games. And kids can circle the bases after the game. Advance tickets are $5 for kids and $7 for adults.

Durham Bulls will host the 2019 Fan Fest from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The free event provides fans a chance to take batting practice on the field, purchase single-game tickets for the 2019 season and take photos with the Governors' Cup trophy. Batting practice for attendees 13 and older will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Batting practice for fans 12 and under is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m
