Zebulon house fire kills one
A woman died early Monday in a Franklin County house fire, authorities said.

A fire at 49 P.G. Pearce Road in Zebulon was reported at about 2:40 a.m. Four adults and two children were home at the time, and all but a 55-year-old woman made it out safely, Franklin County Sheriff Jerry Jones said.
The woman, whose name hasn't been released, was visiting from out of town, Jones said, but he didn't know her relationship to the family in the home.
State Bureau of Investigation agents were unable to determine the cause of the fire, Jones said, noting that there were smoking materials, candles and exposed wires in the home.
