Motorcyclist killed in wreck in Fayetteville

On Saturday, April 22, 2017, at approximately 5:12 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash along the 5000 block of Yadkin Road.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash along the 5000 block of Yadkin Road around 5:15 Saturday.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda sedan was traveling West on Yadkin Road, when driver of the sedan began making a left turn in to a parking lot and was then hit by a motorcycle traveling East on Yadkin Road.

The motorcycle driver, Jeremiah Holmes, 24,of the 4100 block of Collins Street, Fort Bragg, died from his injures. Holmes was operating a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The driver of the 2008 Honda sedan has been identified as Joseph Brown, 51, of the 600 block of Miller Avenue. The 2008 Honda had two passengers, a 14-year-old female and a 15-year-old female. The occupants in the sedan sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
