Woman killed crossing S. Saunders Street

Raleigh police said Denise Michelle Holliday, 53, was struck by a 1994 Mazda pickup truck as she crossed near the intersection with Carolina Pines Avenue. She died at the scene.

A witness said Holliday was knocked out of her shoes by the impact.

Raleigh police said Holliday was not within a marked crosswalk and was trying to cross against the traffic light. No charges were filed against the driver.
