Woman taken to hospital after Raleigh shooting

A young woman was taken to the hospital late Friday night after being shot in Raleigh, officials said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A young woman was taken to the hospital late Friday night after being shot in Raleigh, officials said.

Police responded to the call at around 11:30 p.m. on Capital Boulevard and found a woman in her 20's suffering from a gunshot wound.

The shooting happened near the Starmount Shopping Center across from Adventure Landing.

Tavaris Holloman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with the shooting. Holloman, 28, carries a Wilson address.

Witnesses who worked at a Popeyes nearby reported hearing three gunshots from their PA system.

Officials did not provide WRAL News with any other information on this shooting.

A second shooting was reported off Capital Boulevard Friday night around 9 p.m. One man was transported to a hospital after officials said that shots were fired from an upstairs apartment into a downstairs apartment.
