Woman, son in hospital after Fayetteville wreck

A woman and her 11-year-old son were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Wednesday afternoon after a wreck at the intersection of Tom Starling Road and Corporation Drive in Fayetteville, state Highway Patrol officials said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman and her 11-year-old son were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Wednesday afternoon after a wreck at the intersection of Tom Starling Road and Corporation Drive in Fayetteville, state Highway Patrol officials said. 

According to investigators, Jennifer Ann Sylvester was driving an Animal Control truck along the road around 5 p.m. when she failed to yield and hit the car carrying the woman and her son. 

Sylvester, who wasn't injured, was charged with failure to yield the right of way. 

The woman was still in critical condition early Thursday, but her son's conditioned had improved to good. 

No other information about the wreck was available.
