Woman Charged With Transporting Drugs Along Interstate 95

Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies charged a New York woman Wednesday with transporting drugs along northbound Interstate 95.

CUMBERLAND — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies charged a New York woman Wednesday with transporting drugs along northbound Interstate 95.

Puig Quinones, 28, of 941 Hoe Ave., the Bronx, N.Y., was driving a rented vehicle when she was stopped for a routine traffic violation near the Murphy Road exit, deputies said.

Two duffel bags were found in the trunk of her car filled with 21 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, deputies said. The drugs had an estimated street value of about $100,000.

Quinones told deputies she was coming from Miami.

Quinones was charged with trafficking marijuana by possession, trafficking marijuana by transportation and maintaining a vehicle for the sale and delivery of marijuana.
