GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Goldsboro woman is accused of using her boyfriend's identity to apply for a credit card and stealing it from his mailbox when it arrived.

Lemeka Angeria Kornegay, 26, of 173-B Millers Chapel Road, was arrested Monday and charged with one count of financial identity theft and one count of financial transaction card theft.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office said a collection agency contacted Kornegay's boyfriend, Jamar Patterson, about an outstanding balance on a credit card in his name.

Patterson contacted authorities, who traced the card to Kornegay, the sheriff's office said.

Kornegay was in the Wayne County Jail Monday under a $7,500 bond.
