Woman, 74, dies in Moore County house fire
A 74-year-old Southern Pines woman died late Friday after a home in the 800 block of West New Hampshire Avenue caught fire, officials said.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — A 74-year-old Southern Pines woman died late Friday after a home in the 800 block of West New Hampshire Avenue caught fire, officials said.
According to investigators, fire broke out in the kitchen of Hattie Dancy's home at about 8 p.m. Neighbors called 911 when they saw flames shooting from the home.
Firefighters found Dancy dead inside when they arrived.
It's not clear how the fire started, and authorities have not released any other information.
