Wilson police continue search for vehicle after slaying

Wilson police continued to search for a vehicle with Florida license plates Friday a day after a 28-year-old man was shot to death.

WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police continued to search for a vehicle with Florida license plates Friday a day after a 28-year-old man was shot to death.

Brian Mitchell, of Wilson, was shot in the 500 bock of Fairview Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead at Wilson Medical Center.

Police are searching for a dark-colored, four-door car with Florida tags. Three black men occupied it around the time of the shooting.

Investigators located a vehicle they had described earlier, but says it is no longer of interest in the case. The investigations is ongoing.
