CLAYTON, N.C. — Five people, including two children, were injured late Friday when two vehicles collided on Little Creek Church Road in Clayton, state Highway Patrol officials said.

Troopers responded to the scene, which was near the Clayton Bypass, at about 9:30 p.m. after a full-sized van lost control and hit a Ford Explorer head on.

All four people inside the Explorer and the driver of the van were taken to WakeMed with minor injuries, troopers said.

Investigators said wet roads were the cause of the wreck. The driver of the van will be charged with a lane control violation.
